Merry Chanukristmas and Other Teenaged Disasters

As the holiday’s approach, I’m reconsidering the whole gift giving thing. Here’s why: last year’s holiday season was disastrous! The second night of Hanukkah landed on Christmas, and my boyfriend and I were looking forward to a lovely night of mixed-family togetherness, spending it with his 19 year old son and my 16 year old daughter. We would blend not just our families but our holidays, too. All was going well. We ate yummy snacks, watched a movie we all loved, planned a delicious dinner… and then the gift giving began.
